Wang Yi: The Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness Adds New Strength to the Big Asian Family

2023-10-24 23:10

On October 24, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi attended the opening ceremony of the International Symposium to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of China's Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness in Neighborhood Diplomacy in Beijing.

Wang Yi said, "amity" in the Principle of Amity, Sincerity, Mutual Benefit and Inclusiveness is how we interact, and has added new strength to the big Asian family. The Chinese nation has always valued good-neighborliness and harmony among nations. Forging friendship and partnership with neighboring countries has been a consistent commitment in China's neighborhood diplomacy. Over the past decade, President Xi Jinping has drawn up blueprints for growing China's relations with neighboring countries, and visited many of our neighbors, providing strong guidance for the growth of friendship in our neighborhood. Frequent exchanges have enabled stronger mutual understanding, and mutual assistance has strengthened our development efforts. Together, we have navigated challenges such as COVID-19 and terrorism, overcome natural disasters including earthquakes and floods, and left behind many heartwarming episodes of mutual support. China's rescue team was the first to respond to the earthquake in Nepal. Chinese vaccines were the earliest to arrive in Timor-Leste. The over 600 million vaccines that China offered ASEAN are equivalent to the entire population of ASEAN countries combined. These are all concrete actions that give true meaning to a community with a shared future.
